Schröder's Deal for Former Rapid Player Expected to Fuel Dressing Room Tensions

Former Salzburg boss Rouven Schröder had a major overhaul to manage at Borussia Mönchengladbach this transfer summer.
New players were supposed to create a sense of optimism. However, after defeats against Leipzig (0:3) and Elversberg (3:4) to start the season, little of that is visible.
According to "Bild", the squad policy is being questioned internally. Doubts are being raised as to whether returning player Ko Itakura (Ajax) is a real reinforcement after a mixed season in the Netherlands.
Attack Too Heavily Stocked?
There is also little conviction regarding the second division signings David Herold and Enzo Leopold. The latter recently suffered a cruciate ligament tear and will be out for a long time.
The loan of former Rapid player Nicolas Kühn (Como) is also said to have caused surprise. The "Foals" squad is already well-stocked in attack. Players who already get little playing time are said to be less than thrilled about another competitor.
