Wiener Sport-Club: Listen to Samba with Us
Since this summer, there's a new podcast about Wiener Sport-Club: Samba.
The podcast's name refers to the chant that fans sing together with the team after victories.
Samba sees itself as an official club and community podcast — a format that has not existed in Austria until now.
"Close & Critical"
At its core are conversations with players, coaches, and officials outside of traditional PR appointments, as well as stories from the fan community: from the Friedhofstribüne, the Flac, and Annemarie to those who volunteer behind the scenes.
The guiding principle is "Close & Critical". The podcast is close to the club — but does not interpret this as a license for uncritical reporting.
The First Episodes Are Already Available
Behind the project is host Simon Hirt, a journalist and multi-award-winning podcaster (ballesterer-Podcast), who developed the project together with press spokesman Marcel Ludwig. Also on the team: Bernhard Braun, Sebastian Hinterwirth, and Nicolas Lendl (both ORF-Sport) as well as Tobias Schön.
Season 1 has started: CEO David Krapf-Günther opened, head coach Daniel Seper in episode 2, captains Konstantin Kerschbaumer and Niki Wunsch in episode 3, the WSC Women with Emina Puškarević and Justine Siever in episode 4.
