The defending champions defeat Slovan Bratislava 5-1 on Wednesday evening.

Ödegaard rescues Arsenal

Arsenal prevail 1-0 in their first-round clash against SSC Napoli.

At the Estadio Diego Maradona, it is Martin Ödegaard in the 75th minute who scores the deserved winning goal with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area.

It is the "Gunners'" fifth consecutive competitive victory, while for Napoli it is their third defeat in a row.

Galatasaray lose after taking the lead

Sporting Lisbon defeat Galatasaray 3-1 in the parallel match.

An own goal by Goncalo Inacio (5.) gives the Turks an early lead, but Geny Catamo (27.) equalizes with a volley still in the first half.

After the break, the Portuguese are awarded a penalty, which the fouled Luis Suarez converts with a powerful shot into the bottom left corner (57.).
