Moves to Italian top clubs such as Juventus Turin, AC Milan or most recently Lazio Rom fell through. Speculation about a transfer to the Saudi Pro League, as well as to Manchester United, has also come to nothing so far.
According to an Italian journalist, Alaba could now be drawn to an exotic league. As transfer expert Matteo Moretto now reports, Club América is said to be considering signing the regular central defender.
The club is the Mexican record champion, hails from Mexico City, and can call the legendary Estadio Azteca its home.
