Wacker Innsbruck clarifies captain's future
The number ten remains on board with the 2. Liga promoted team.
Wacker Innsbruck can continue to plan with Rami Tekir.
The Tyroleans prematurely extended the contract with their captain until 2028.
The 29-year-old played for Wacker Innsbruck II from 2014 before moving to FC Liefering and then returning to Tyrol.
"Rami is far more than just our captain. He embodies Wacker Innsbruck, knows the club and its people, and is an important pillar of our team both athletically and personally. We are all the more delighted that we are continuing this journey together," reported Sporting Director Jakob Griesebner on the club's website.
The player himself also expressed his delight: "For me, Wacker is much more than just a club. I feel incredibly comfortable here and I'm really looking forward to continuing this journey together with the team and our fans. We still have a lot we want to achieve together."
