Austria Salzburg: Defender poised for Germany move
Sebastian Aigner and the "Violettes" recently failed to agree on a continued collaboration. He now appears to have found a new club.
Sebastian Aigner is leaving Austria Salzburg and has apparently already found a new club.
The centre-back, who was developed at FC Red Bull Salzburg, recently failed to agree on a continued collaboration with Austria Salzburg.
In the current season, he did not play any more matches for the second-division club; his contract expired on July 1, 2026.
As the "Salzburger Nachrichten" now report, Aigner is heading to Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany. The club plays in the Regionalliga Nordost.
In total, the 25-year-old made 39 Bundesliga appearances for Altach and played 74 matches in the second division for Liefering, Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz, and Austria Salzburg.
