Fenerbahce Thrash Admira
The Südstadt club had no chance in the friendly match against the Turkish top club. It marks another clear defeat in their pre-season preparation.
Admira suffered a heavy 0-5 defeat against Fenerbahce Istanbul as part of the Summer Series Upper Austria.
The Turkish vice-champions played dominantly as expected, with Cengiz Ünder scoring the opening goal in the ninth minute to make it 1-0. Before the half-time whistle, Milan Skriniar added a second goal (42').
The goal-scoring continued merrily in the second half. Fred extended the lead to 3-0 (60'), an own goal by Benjamin Glitia made it 4-0 (70'). Rodrigo Becao sealed the final score just four minutes later (74').
Admira thus suffered a clear defeat in their third pre-season friendly as well, having recently lost to WAC (2-8) and Hartberg (1-3).
On July 14, LASK will face the Turkish top club, and the double-winners will also play Fortuna Düsseldorf on July 18.
