Young Violets Decisively Defeat Rapid II in Derby
The Young Violets deservedly emerge victorious, with the match featuring several spectacular goals. It's the fourth consecutive defeat for the young Green-Whites.
In the youngsters' derby, the Young Violets win 4-1 against Rapid II in the 7th round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
The first dangerous action belonged to the Young Violets. Jerabek tried his luck from distance, narrowly missing the target (9'), shortly after the hosts came close to a 1-0 lead after a corner, but Orgler made a strong save (10').
Jerabek Opens the Scoring
The Austrians kept pushing and this time the net rippled: Jerabek dribbled through the Rapid defence in the penalty area and chipped Orgler for the lead (14').
After that, the Green-Whites found their way better into the game, which ebbed and flowed. After just over 35 minutes, Orgler distinguished himself again, saving a shot from close range by Deshisku.
Explosive Start to the Second Half
The second half started with a bang: Polonkai took a chance from a good 20 meters out, striking it low and accurately into the bottom right corner - 2-0 (48').
Rapid II, however, could immediately pull one back. After a square pass from Ekerokosu, Jozepovic could tap it in (52').
Kerber's team found their way much better into the match after the goal and remained dangerous. But then they weakened themselves. The already booked Ertl wrestled Hausjell down during a long ball and received a yellow-red card for it (64').
Menshykov with Great Touch
The game became more balanced again afterwards, but the young Rapid players kept creating dangerous moments. After a header from Szladits, Blazevic could distinguish himself (70').
However, the Young Violets also remained dangerous; a header from Vorsager narrowly missed the post (77').
Shortly after, the very spectacular goal that effectively decided the match was scored. Menshykov dribbled from the left into the penalty area and hit it precisely into the top far corner (83'). The Ukrainian again put the finishing touch, tapping in for 4-1 after a counter-attack (90.+2).
With this, the Young Violets jump to fifth place, while Rapid II remains 14th with their fourth consecutive defeat.
