The hosts get off to a significantly better start and clearly dominate the early stages of the game.

After a long throw-in, Vakouftsis gets a shot away, but his attempt is blocked (7'). A little later, Radics shoots wide after a strong individual effort (14').

Schubert Gives Voitsberg the Lead

Voitsberg remained the more dangerous side even after that. In the 27th minute, Elias Neubauer sends Radics deep, but he takes too much time with his shot.

Shortly after, the promoted side finally rewarded themselves. Neubauer plays another perfect through ball, Fabian Schubert runs alone towards Nesler-Täubl and leaves the keeper no chance – 1:0 (33').

Austria then found their way better into the game. Gebauer forced Voitsberg keeper Dmitrovic into a save (38'), and just a minute later, the custodian was also on hand against Pfeffer.

Austria Strikes Back

The visitors eventually rewarded themselves for their first period of pressure. Tamar Crnkic initially failed against Dmitrovic, but followed up on the rebound and scored to make it 1-1 (40').

Voitsberg played a bit too passively after taking the lead and had to settle for a draw at halftime.

After the break, however, the Styrians came out of the changing room better.

Schubert Nets a Brace

Schubert initially missed with a volley (50'), before Voitsberg struck again shortly after.

Manuel Polster took a shot from distance, Schubert got his foot to it, deflecting the ball unstoppably into the net. The goalscorer thus netted his brace, making it 2-1 with his fifth goal of the season (57').

The hosts were then closer to a third goal. Daniel Goriupp first failed against Nesler-Täubl (63'), and a little later, he couldn't convert a header from close range (70').

The First Home Win for Zulechner

Austria took a higher risk in the final phase but couldn't make a decisive impact. Voitsberg thus held onto their narrow lead.

For Philipp Zulechner's team, it is the first victory after five competitive matches without a win, and simultaneously the first home win of the current season.

Austria Salzburg remains in sixth place with ten points. Voitsberg jumps to eleventh place in the table with nine points.
