Köllner Raves About Blau-Weiß: "Phenomenal Record"

Madritsch Joins the Ranks

Diego Madritsch was allowed to start for the first time against Admira and thanked his team with his debut goal for Blau-Weiß. Following a perfect cross from Dominik Frieser, the new signing headed in the opener in the eighth minute.

Madritsch is thus the latest summer signing to impress for the 'Steel City' club.

Erik Weinhauer has also long since developed into an important factor. His set pieces regularly create danger, and the winger himself is dangerous in front of goal.

Romeo Vucic, in turn, impresses as a target man and is finding his place better and better alongside veteran Ronivaldo.

And the other new signings are also getting their playing time: Filip Ristanic celebrated his league debut against his former club and helped set up the 3-0. Jacob Collmann came off the bench and scored after being substituted on.

For Köllner, precisely this depth is a decisive factor: "We now have good squad depth. We saw that last week against Wels with the triple substitution at halftime. Those who came in today and also those who played from the start today did a superb job."

Finally a Clean Sheet Again

In addition to their offensive quality, the league leaders were also able to celebrate a clean sheet this time.

In the four competitive matches prior, Blau-Weiß Linz had conceded at least one goal in each. Against Admira, the defense finally held firm once again.

With only four goals conceded, Köllner's squad thus continues to boast the best defense in the league. At the same time, with 20 goals, Linz is also the benchmark offensively.

The fact that the 'Steel City' club is particularly difficult to beat at home is further underlined by their home streak: they secured their fourth win in their fourth home game.

The start to the season could hardly have gone better for the relegated team. "18 out of a possible 21 points, that's a phenomenal record, one has to admit," summarizes the coach.

At the same time, his team must not rest on their laurels. "The table doesn't allow for complacency in the end. We must now also ensure that we improve a few things during the international break."

Köllner also wants to use the long break to continue working on his team. "To stay right at the top, we have to keep improving week after week," he says.
