No Winner! Sturm II Fights Back From 2-Goal Deficit Against Wacker

SK Sturm Graz II drew 2-2 with FC Wacker Innsbruck in the 7th round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.

Wacker got off to a dream start when Luis Gstrein was left alone on the left wing after a pass from Alexander Joppich in the seventh minute, confidently slotting the ball into the far corner.

Just a few minutes later, the Tyroleans extended their lead. A corner kick from Matthew Evans was let through by Phil Kunze and slipped to Mouhamed Sy, who shot into the left corner with his right foot (16').

Wacker remained the more dangerous team, and after half an hour, Sturm II goalkeeper Elias Lorenz prevented Gstrein from scoring a brace with a good save.

Young "Blackies" Fight Back

Yet, the Graz side pulled a goal back almost out of nowhere. Mate Grgic headed on a cross from the right to Niklas Lang, who struck from close range (36'). Shortly before halftime, Innsbruck were lucky when Jonas Peinhart headed against the crossbar after a free-kick.

Thus, they went into the second half with a narrow lead. Sturm II started well, with Grgic just missing wide. But after almost an hour, it happened: Lang outran all defenders on the left side and scored his second goal from a tight angle (58').

After that, the match fizzled out. Sturm II was slightly stronger but couldn't generate enough attacking penetration, so it remained a 2-2 draw.

In the table, Graz are twelfth with eight points, while Wacker has eleven points and ranks fifth.
