Snowboard legend announces end of career!
After 30 seasons in professional sports, it's over for the Salzburg native.
Andreas Prommegger will end his professional career after the upcoming season.
The Salzburg native announced this in an interview with "Salzburger Nachrichten". After 30 years in the professional circuit, the St. Johann native wants to hang up his board.
"This will definitely be my last season. I am proud and grateful that I can say this at 45, physically fit and athletically at the highest level," says the three-time world champion.
Home World Championships as a major goal
The 45-year-old denies that his last season will be a leisurely ride: "I do believe I will be competing for victories and podium finishes again. I certainly hope I haven't forgotten how to snowboard." The season highlight is expected to be the Home World Championships in Montafon in March.
In the future, he will also remain involved in the sport as an entrepreneur. In Pongau, Prommegger operates a Padel facility and has taken over the international "Skiareatest".
The World Cup season begins at the end of November in China.
