After a long break: Prevc sticks to unusual plan

Domen Prevc continues to pursue an unusual preparation plan for the upcoming winter.

After his long competition break, he took part in the Continental Cup in Stams last weekend. Now the high-flyer will also compete in Hinterzarten.

"We decided to go to Hinterzarten for the competitions to maintain this rhythm. For me, this is good training for the winter," the Slovenian is quoted by the newspaper "Ekipa".

First competition after a long break

For Prevc, last weekend's competition was his first international comparison. On Saturday, he finished 17th. The first jump was somewhat unsuccessful, while in the second, he set a new hill record with 121.5 meters. A day later, he took third place. Clemens Aigner claimed both victories (more here >>>).

The overall World Cup winner of last season used the summer for some material changes. He also wanted to adapt his jumping style a bit.

Prevc already sees improvement in the flight phase

"I can't wait to improve the elements that aren't working yet and to achieve the desired quality. There are still many mistakes, and there is still much to improve," he says.

Nevertheless, he views the first competition jumps positively. He has already noticed an improvement in the air, but speed and height in the second flight phase still need work.

While the Summer Grand Prix took place last weekend in Rasnov, it is now paused until October 24. The final stop will be in Klingenthal. The World Cup starts on November 20 in Lillehammer (Norway).
