Ski Jumping Talent Dies in Traffic Accident
The French Ski Federation (FFS) mourns a young up-and-coming ski jumper.
French ski jumper Nathan Géhin has died at the age of 16 in a traffic accident. The French Ski Federation (FFS) confirmed this on social media.
"The FFS extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all members of his club, who are deeply affected by this tragedy. In this difficult time, the French Ski Federation stands fully by them and expresses its heartfelt sympathy," the federation wrote on Facebook.
According to media reports, the traffic accident is believed to have occurred last weekend in the winter sports community of Ventron in eastern France.
A driver reportedly lost control of her vehicle. Géhin died. Three other people, including the driver, were seriously injured. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
Géhin was active at the US Ventron winter sports club.
