Hirscher Completes Secret Training Camp in Argentina
Signs are mounting that Marcel Hirscher could soon return to the Ski World Cup. Images have emerged showing him in giant slalom training in Ushuaia.
Marcel Hirscher's World Cup comeback continues to take shape.
After the 37-year-old recently made his first turns again in an indoor ski hall near Zoetermeer, he has now taken the next step. A video has emerged on social media showing Marcel Hirscher in giant slalom training in Ushuaia.
Start in Sölden Still Uncertain
The eight-time overall World Cup winner is training there with the French women's team. Camille Cerutti even published a joint photo with the Salzburg native. He used the groomed piste to get his giant slalom technique up to scratch.
Whether Marcel Hirscher will be at the start for the World Cup opener in Sölden (October 25) is still open. His decision also depends on the outcome of the FIS autumn meeting in Geneva.
This will take place in just under two weeks. FIS Race Director Markus Waldner already announced that, due to a special regulation, the 37-year-old "could theoretically still compete 17 more times with this status (special wildcard status, editor's note)."
