ÖSV Veteran: "I finally want to be a permanent part of the World Cup team"

The ÖSV's most veteran ski jumper aims high this World Cup winter.

After his two victories in the Continental Cup in Stams, where he left World Cup dominator Domen Prevc behind, Clemens Aigner is also hoping for his chance in the ÖSV World Cup team. In an interview with the "Kurier", he shows a combative spirit: "I want to make the breakthrough and finally be a permanent part of the World Cup team."

He celebrated his biggest success to date at the Four Hills Tournament 2024, which he finished in eighth place. However, due to strong competition within the ÖSV team, the 33-year-old must once again prove himself in the Continental Cup, where three spots for the World Cup are awarded.

New Brand Teammate of Domen Prevc

With Jan Hörl, Stefan Kraft, Daniel Tschofenig, Maximilian Ortner, Jonas Schuster, and Stephan Embacher, the ÖSV squad for the upcoming World Cup winter is already set.

Aigner should be boosted by the fact that high-flyer Domen Prevc finished well behind the veteran in Stams. "That feels really good," Aigner admits.

Since summer, he has shared the same ski brand with the 27-year-old Slovenian. The Slatnar brand is the new equipment supplier for the 33-year-old Tyrolean.

Aigner recounted his first experiences with the new skis to the "Kurier": "It felt great right from the first jump." "I want to hit the ground running this year and show what I'm capable of." He also believes he can "jump to the top in the World Cup."
