Horngacher implements unusual training method in Poland
According to Kacper Tomasiak, the team coordinator can contribute a lot of his knowledge – and also introduces new approaches.
For a long time, there was much back and forth concerning Stefan Horngacher, but now he seems to be well integrated into the Polish Ski Jumping Federation.
The federation described his new role upon his introduction as follows: "Stefan is primarily to act as a coach, but in the role of a coordinator for the entire training system." More on this >>>
The Austrian has already led individual training sessions for the Poles. "He has contributed a lot of his enormous knowledge, which was certainly a great help. The coaches work well together. The knowledge of each individual is useful, and Stefan has brought a lot of himself to the table," says Kacper Tomasiak to "TVP Sport".
Unusual Training Method
In addition, the former German national coach introduces new methods. "We wore something like cross-country skiing clothing. I believe the goal was to train the feeling during flight. Furthermore, these were not jumps on the large hill, but on a very small hill," explains the 19-year-old, who finished last season in 23rd place in the overall World Cup.
They felt the effect and it helped them understand how they behave in the air and how their movements would improve the feeling of flight.
The athletes will be able to apply what they have learned as early as the first weekend of August at the Summer Grand Prix in Wisla (POL).
