Annika Belshaw is leaving the ski jumping circuit behind.

The 24-year-old American announced her retirement via Instagram. "I am eternally grateful for everything this wonderful sport has given me. Thank you to everyone who made this possible," Belshaw wrote there.

Still in February, the older sister of Erik Belshaw, who is also active in the Ski Jumping World Cup, competed at the Winter Olympics in Italy, where she finished 21st on the normal hill.

At the beginning of January, Belshaw jumped to her best World Cup result with 7th place in Ljubno, Slovenia, and was the first American woman since Nita Englund in 2017 in Pyeongchang to finish in the top 10.
