Difficult times for Nordic Combined!

After the sport was removed from the Olympic program after more than 100 years, many participants are facing existential fears.

German national coach and three-time Olympic champion Eric Frenzel fears a complete end to Nordic Combined soon: "In two years at the latest, Nordic Combined will no longer exist. I also hear from colleagues in other nations that they don't know how things are supposed to continue."

Especially among the athletes, there is great uncertainty regarding the future. "Among us athletes, there is a negative mood, a feeling of hopelessness is spreading," explains Vinzenz Geiger.

After the "huge shock" of the official decision that their sport would disappear from the Olympics, the 29-year-old "lost the ground beneath his feet."
