Seven Weeks After Fall: Lamparter Gives Health Update
The overall World Cup winner in Nordic Combined is battling for the World Championship season after a serious fall. Now he reveals his current condition.
Johannes Lamparter is on the road to recovery!
Seven weeks after his fall in Courchevel, the Tyrolean revealed to the ORF: "You notice things are progressing day by day, but slowly. I would love to be back on the ski jump, making jumps and going roller skiing."
In early August, the 24-year-old broke his ankle, tore his syndesmotic ligament, and strained the collateral ligament in his knee (more on this >>>).
He is currently undergoing rehabilitation, focusing primarily on strengthening and restoring mobility. Furthermore, the Nordic Combined athlete is expected to return "at 120 percent," according to Patrick Grassnig, managing director of "Physio 1.0," speaking to the media outlet.
Comeback Date Still Open
The season for his teammates begins on November 27 in Ruka. For the three-time Olympic medalist, that will likely be too soon. "I can't say exactly when I'll be back, or if I can even start in the World Cup in 2026, because I haven't done any dry jumps yet and haven't been in a cross-country ski boot," he explains.
However, the goal is to be a regular starter in the World Cup again in 2027. The season highlight for the Nordic Combined athletes takes place in March. The World Championships will be held in Falun, Sweden.
