Andexer Races into Top Field at Munich Biathlon Event
The 23-year-old Austrian shows good form. The victory goes to an Olympic champion.
Austrian biathlete Anna Andexer finished sixth in the Supersprint on Saturday at the high-caliber Loop One Festival in Munich. Anna Gandler also competed in the final, finishing ninth.
Both Austrians just barely made it into the final. In the final, Andexer committed three errors, while Gandler made five.
French mass start Olympic champion Océane Michelon secured the victory. Swedes Elvira Öberg and Anna Magnusson took second and third place.
Extremely Close Result in Men's Race
In the men's event, Swede Martin Ponsiluoma clinched the victory – but only by a whisker. Norway's Johan-Olav Botn had to settle for second place, trailing by just 0.009 seconds.
Dominic Unterweger (32nd) and Fredrik Mühlbacher (59th) failed to advance past the qualification round.
