Lindsey Vonn on her new love: "He's great"
The American speaks for the first time about her relationship with French speed skier Matthieu Bailet.
After difficult months following her severe crash at the Olympic Games, things are looking up again for Lindsey Vonn.
The American is fighting her way back physically and could target one more World Cup comeback. In her personal life, Vonn has been on cloud nine for several months anyway.
In September, the 42-year-old made her relationship with French speed specialist Matthieu Bailet public.
Now Vonn has spoken about her new love for the first time to "People" magazine.
"People now know that I'm happy, but..."
"He's great," Vonn gushes about her boyfriend, who is twelve years her junior. She said she is "really happy" because Bailet is a "fantastic boyfriend."
However, the American does not want to reveal much more about her relationship.
"People now know that I'm with someone and happy, but I won't be sharing too much about it in the future," says Vonn, who has apparently learned lessons from her past relationships with golf star Tiger Woods and former NHL player P. K. Subban, among others.
"I think in the past for me it was a mix of secrecy and maybe also too much openness," says Vonn.
