It was only announced on Saturday that the Swiss star would be unable to take the flight to Chile. The reason, as confirmed by the federation, is a "minor muscle injury".

However, there is now hope that Odermatt can join part of the preparation. As reported by "Blick", the 28-year-old could embark on the trip with the Swiss downhill racers on September 7.
The overall World Cup winner would then still have three weeks of training in Chile.
