Ski Olympic Champion: "Maybe I'll skip the season"
The 32-year-old is still on her way back after her serious fall – and wants to take it slowly.
Michelle Gisin suffered a serious injury last winter in St. Moritz.
In addition to a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in her left knee, the Swiss skier also sustained tendon injuries in her shoulder, a cervical spine fracture, and a shattered hand.
As Gisin revealed to "Blick," she has now regained 60 percent of her physical performance.
"Half a year ago, I wouldn't have thought that was possible," explained Gisin, who married her long-term partner Luca de Aliprandini in the summer.
World Cup Return Only in 2027?
Nevertheless, Gisin still has a long way to go. "Maybe I'll skip the season and return the winter after next," the 32-year-old offered insights into her planning.
Gisin plans to train on snow again for the first time in October, after which the final decision on her future career will be made.
Gisin has won two Olympic gold medals in her career: she was crowned Olympic champion in the no longer Olympic combined event in both 2018 and 2022.
