Sinja Kraus will play against Alina Charaeva from Armenia in the WTA 250 tournament in Hamburg on Wednesday (not before 11:30 AM in the LIVE ticker >>>) for a spot in the quarterfinals.

The Viennese player has won all of her last six matches, most recently taking the 125 series tournament in Kitzbühel. In the Hanseatic city, she defeated Latvia's Darja Semenistaja in the first round with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 6:2.

In the round of 16, she faces the world number 117. The 24-year-old Charaeva defeated Spain's Sorribes Tormo in her opening match with 3:6, 7:5, 6:1. It is the first encounter between Charaeva and Kraus.

Should the Austrian continue her successful run, she would reach the quarterfinals of a 250-category tournament for the first time and make another leap forward in the world rankings.
