Grabher Wins WTA-125 Tournament in Tolentino

Julia Grabher wins the WTA-125 Challenger tournament in Tolentino!

Austria's number three defeats top-seeded Spaniard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta de Reales (WTA-170.) with a score of 7:6 (5), 6:2.

Strong Start

Grabher started well, earning a break point in the third game of the match, which Maristany Zuleta de Reales was still able to defend.

But at a score of 2:2, it happened: The Austrian secured the break to love for 3:2 and subsequently confidently confirmed it for 4:2. With difficulty, the Spaniard prevented a double break to 2:5, having to defend two break points and narrowing the score to 3:4.

Detour via Tie-break

Grabher, who otherwise performed flawlessly on her own serve, subsequently failed to close out the first set. The Spaniard managed the re-break for 5:5. The decision in the first set had to be made in a tie-break.

In this, the 30-year-old prevailed, winning 7:5. For the Spaniard, it was the first set loss of the entire tournament.

In the second set, Grabher won five games in a row, which was ultimately the key to victory. After 1:39 hours, she converted her first match point.

Third Challenger Title

After the title in Bari in September 2022 and the title in Florianopolis in October 2025, this is the third title at WTA Challenger level for the 30-year-old Vorarlberg native. In 2026, it is generally Grabher's first title.

In the WTA ranking, the Austrian will thus re-enter the Top 100. Her best ranking to date was 54th place in June 2023.
