Grabher defeated in first qualifying round in Cincinnati
Thanks to a perfect start, the player from Vorarlberg comfortably wins the first set. But then the local favourite turns the match in her favour.
Julia Grabher is defeated in the first round of qualification for the WTA-1000 tournament in Cincinnati by American Robin Montgomery (WTA-200) with scores of 4:6, 7:5, 6:3.
The player from Vorarlberg gets off to a dream start in the first set, quickly leading 40:0 in the opening game and immediately breaking her opponent's serve. She remained highly focused on her own serve and converted her first set point to take the lead.
In the second set, both players initially held their serves, but at 6:5, Montgomery secured the decisive break, thus leveling the match.
In the third set, the American managed to get the decisive break at 3:2, sealing the defeat for Julia Grabher.
