Oumar Diakité never got the chance to prove himself in the first team at FC Red Bull Salzburg. Nevertheless, he made the leap abroad via cooperation club FC Liefering.

After Stade Reims' relegation from Ligue 1, the center-forward moved to Cercle Brugge on loan last summer. The 22-year-old Ivorian particularly impressed towards the end of the season, securing a spot in Ivory Coast's World Cup squad.

Move to Turkey?

As Stade Reims missed out on direct promotion, another departure is considered likely.

In early summer, SV Werder Bremen reportedly inquired about Diakité (read more >>>). According to transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri, the hottest lead currently points to Turkey. Süper Lig promoted side Amed SK is said to have contacted the player's representatives to clarify the basic conditions for a transfer. FC Basel and Lincoln City are also rumored to have loose interest.

The 22-year-old center-forward's contract with Stade Reims runs until 2028. His current market value is estimated at five million euros.
