In the race for the Madagascar international, SK Rapid lost out to KSC's new coach. Recently, "advanced talks" with both clubs were reported.
Following the successful start to the season against Arminia Bielefeld (read more >>>), KSC coach Maximilian Senft can already chalk up the next success on the transfer market.
With Sandro Trémoulet, an absolute dream player has decided to make the move to Karlsruhe.
The transfer of the Madagascar international became official on Tuesday afternoon. The 26-year-old centre-back joins from Serbian top-flight club FK Radnik Surdulica.
Rapid was also in the running
SK Rapid is also said to have intensely pursued Trémoulet; recently, "advanced talks" with both clubs were reported.
It is unclear whether Rapid intensified their efforts at all, given the waning interest in Serge-Philippe Raux-Yao.
"When you meet Sandro, you know after five minutes: He fits KSC. It was clear that we wanted to sign a left-footed player for the central defence. Sandro, at 26, is in his prime and gives us the options we need for our game. He is a great guy who fits exactly what we are building here," commented Sporting Director Mario Eggimann.
