The US Open has concluded, but it has consequences for some players, as the organizer has handed out penalties.

Some players' misconduct will cost them dearly. A total of 112,500 US dollars in fines are to be paid, reports "sport1". This concerns 20 violations.

Among others, Terence Atmane and Aryna Sabalenka (both 7,500 US dollars) will face high costs. The Frenchman complained of pain in his match against Jaume Munar after winning two sets. A physiotherapist came to help but could not treat the player, as in his opinion it was cramps, which he is not allowed to treat.

However, this infuriated Atmane. "These are not cramps, I'm in pain, do you understand? I'm in pain, P-A-I-N. Are you stupid or what?"

He also stated that he would find out the therapist's name. Ultimately, he lost the match 6:7 (5), 3:6, 6:1, 7:6 (4), 7:5. The encounter lasted over five hours.

Sabalenka Also Has to Pay

Aryna Sabalenka also does not escape without a penalty. After her final defeat against Elena Rybakina, her racket had to pay the price. She also made derogatory remarks towards a cameraman.

The French players Arthur Fils (5,000 US dollars), Arthur Gea, and Corentin Moutet also have to pay. In most cases, it involved improper handling of equipment. This was also the case for Moutet. He has to pay 5,000 US dollars for "Racket Abuse" and another 10,000 US dollars for offenses related to clothing or equipment.

The highest fine goes to Luisina Giovannini. After retiring at a score of 0:5 after 17 minutes, it was stated that her effort was not professional enough. This behavior costs her 20,000 US dollars.
