New ÖTV Duo! Miedler/Oberleitner to team up on tour

Ahead of the Davis Cup tie between Austria and Belgium in Vienna's Prater, doubles specialists Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner announced their immediate partnership.

The duo, who are likely to be fielded against Belgium, have set a clear goal: By the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, they aim to establish themselves among the world's best teams and compete for a medal for Austria there.

New ÖTV Duo with Big Goals

Following Vienna, their ATP Tour journey will continue in Tokyo.

"Neil and I have known each other for a long time. We won a Future tournament in 2020. Since he focused on doubles, he has developed extremely strongly. I am convinced that we, as a team, have great long-term potential. The goal must be to make the jump to the world's top eight teams by 2028 and to compete for a medal for Austria at the Olympics," explained Miedler, who is currently ranked 24th in doubles and played alongside Alexander Erler for years.

Miedler himself has already won 13 doubles titles, while Oberleitner won his first tournament this year in Winston-Salem and reached the quarterfinals at the French Open.
