Sensational! ÖTV Duo Knocks Out Doubles Number One
Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner pull off a sensation in the doubles quarter-finals of the Erste Bank Open - the ÖTV duo eliminates the top-seeded pair from the tournament.
The last remaining home duo in the doubles competition at the Erste Bank Open has sensationally reached the semi-finals.
Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner defeated the top-seeded pair Harri Heliovaara (FIN) and Henry Patten (GBR) in a champions tie-break with 6:7 (5), 7:6 (2) and 10:5.
The ÖTV pair showed their best form in the quarter-finals and forced the Finnish-British duo into a tie-break already in set one, which they narrowly lost 5:7.
Miedler/Oberleitner Advance to Semi-finals
The second set also remained balanced for a long time and went to a tie-break, which the two ÖTV players won clearly 7:2.
In the decisive champions tie-break, Miedler/Oberleitner showed better nerves, played brilliantly and clinched it 10:5.
In the semi-finals, the last remaining home duo will now face Andreozzi/Guinard (ARG/FRA).
