Erste Bank Open today: Alexander Zverev - Arthur Fery
The future world number one faces a shooting star of the current season in the quarter-finals. LIVE info:
In the quarter-finals of the Erste Bank Open, Alexander Zverev will face Briton Arthur Fery (ATP No. 35) (from approx. 5:30 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
Thanks to his straight-sets victory against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the German achieved a career milestone. After the tournament in the Wiener Stadthalle, Zverev will be the new world number one in the ATP rankings. He is the 30th player to achieve this in ATP history.
Arthur Fery is one of the shooting stars of 2026. Exactly one year ago, he was still ranked around position 200 in the world. Primarily thanks to his semi-final run at Wimbledon, the British number one made a leap forward. In Vienna, he first advanced due to the retirement of Jacob Fearnley before defeating Musetti in three sets in the round of 16.
The only previous encounter between the two players took place in the aforementioned Wimbledon semi-final, where Zverev prevailed.
