Joel Schwärzler wins ATP Challenger title in Poland!

The ÖTV talent wins his third singles title at Challenger level and enters the world's top 150 for the first time.

Schwärzler wins the final of Grodzisk Mazowiecki against Andrea Guerrieri (ITA) with 7:6(4), 6:1. It is his third singles title at Challenger level.

At the start of the match, both players held their serves convincingly and showed few errors. At 4:4, Schwärzler squandered two break points. Once again in this tournament, the Vorarlberg native went into a tie-break.

In the set's decisive moments, Schwärzler in Grodzisk Mazowiecki was apparently unstoppable. In the fifth tie-break of the tournament, he prevailed for the fifth time with a 7:4 score.

Early Break Seals the Deal

In the second set, Schwärzler capitalized on a brief period of weakness from his opponent. At 2:1, Guerrieri failed to score a single point on his serve, allowing Schwärzler to take a 3:1 lead. Two games later, he secured another break.

After 1 hour and 30 minutes, Joel Schwärzler converted his first match point for a 6:1 win and was able to lift the Challenger trophy. Throughout the entire match, he did not offer his opponent a single break point.

With this triumph, the 20-year-old climbed several spots in the ATP world rankings. He jumps to 149th place, improving his previous personal best by 20 positions. In the NextGen Race, Schwärzler even holds the interim fourth position.
