Very bitter! Oberleitner fails in doubles at Québec opener
The Viennese player and his Czech partner entered the tournament in Canada as favorites. However, a three-set defeat leads to an early exit.
For Neil Oberleitner, the Canadian adventure at the ATP Challenger in Québec ends in the first round.
The Viennese player and his doubles partner Petr Nouza (CZE) suffered a bitter 6:7(5), 6:3 and 8:10 defeat against Ariel Behar (URU)/Fernando Romboli (BRA).
Oberleitner initially took a 5:4 lead in the first set after a break and also earned a set point. However, the duo squandered the chance on their own serve and fell behind in sets after a lost tie-break.

However, Oberleitner/Nouza were not deterred and played better in the second set. Consequently, the duo fought for a 5:3 lead with a break and served confidently to level the sets at 1:1.
This led to a match tie-break, in which the doubles duo quickly built a 3:0 lead. However, at 8:8, the South American duo got their first and only match point.
Ultimately, the 26-year-old Viennese player and the Czech had to concede defeat after 1 hour and 52 minutes.
