Salzburg joins transfer race for Turkish talent
The 22-year-old was once under contract with Barcelona and is looking for a new club this summer.
Will Red Bull Salzburg make another move in the transfer market?
According to transfer expert Rudy Galetti, the Mozartstädter have set their sights on Emre Demir.
However, there is significant competition for the 22-year-old: CSKA Sofia is said to have already submitted an offer of 400,000 Euros. Alanyaspor, Lugano, and Dinamo Zagreb are also reportedly showing interest.
Once under contract with Barcelona
Demir is a left-footed attacking player who can be deployed both as a number ten and on both wings.
After his breakthrough at Kayserispor, the Turk moved to FC Barcelona as a highly-rated talent. He later returned to his home country and joined Fenerbahçe, where he is under contract until June 2027.
In the past two seasons, Demir was loaned to second-division club Sakaryaspor, with whom he was relegated last season. However, in the 2025/26 season, he made 30 appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
