For the Vienna Vikings, the next important away game in the American Football League Europe is scheduled for next Sunday (July 5).

At 4:40 PM, the Vikings will meet Berlin Thunder in the German capital. Also on board is a prominent newcomer: Offensive Lineman Felix Lepper will make his debut in the Vikings jersey in the away game.

After the Bye Week, the Vikings want to take the next important step in Berlin in the fight to defend their top spot in the AFLE. The matchups between the two organizations have developed into an exciting rivalry in recent years, with both teams regularly delivering intense and physical encounters.

Accordingly focused, Head Coach Chris Calaycay's team will travel to the German capital already on Saturday. Incidentally, Vienna has emerged victorious from all five previous encounters.

Ex-Thunder OL Felix Lepper Makes His Vikings Debut

The signing of Felix Lepper is generating additional attention. The 2.05-meter-tall German Offensive Lineman will immediately strengthen the O-Line of the Vienna Vikings and will be on the field for the first time on Sunday.

Lepper returned from the USA just a few weeks ago, where he was able to showcase himself at the Rookie Mini Camps of NFL franchises New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs.

With his exceptional physique, international experience, and development potential, the 24-year-old brings the best prerequisites to sustainably strengthen the Vikings' offensive line.

Calaycay: "Gained Valuable Experience at the Highest Level"

In Vienna, there will also be a reunion with Runningback Albert Wiesigstrauch. The two already played together for Berlin Thunder.

"Felix is a player with exceptional physical attributes and great potential. He has gained valuable experience at the highest level in recent months, and we are very pleased that he has chosen the Vienna Vikings. The fact that he is already available against Berlin gives us additional quality in our excellent Offensive Line," says Head Coach Chris Calaycay.

Felix Lepper also looks forward to his new task with anticipation, and the Berlin territory is not unfamiliar to him, as he played for the Berlin franchise in 2023 and 2024.

After the valuable experiences in the Mini Camps of the NY Giants and KC Chiefs, he is looking forward to playing football in Europe again. He can hardly wait to be on the field for the Vikings for the first time on Sunday, says Lepper, as the Vienna Vikings have been among the top organizations in European football for years. "I want to do my part to make the team successful."

Vikings Aim for Sixth Win in Sixth Game

With the new signing, Vienna wants to secure the next success in Berlin and make another statement in the ongoing The League Europe season. It would be the sixth win in the sixth game. The team will take the field in their iconic white Away Uniforms, and metaphorically, their record should remain unblemished.

Kickoff against Berlin Thunder is on Sunday, July 5, at 4:40 PM. Fans can experience the game as a Public Viewing Event with culinary specials at Courtyard Vienna (Trabrennstraße, 1020 Wien).

Vienna Vikings at Berlin Thunder will be broadcast by Krone TV, Red Bull TV, Sport 1, and AFLE+, the American Football League Europe's Game Pass.
