Reaction to wildfires! 21st Tour stage must be shortened
It's not the first stage that has to be changed.
The severe wildfires in France are also affecting the Tour de France!
The final stage on Sunday cannot take place over its usual length, but must be shortened by 44 kilometers. It will now cover 89 kilometers, instead of 133.
Some security forces for the final section are reportedly helping to fight the wildfires.
Start Relocated
The start of the 21st stage will also be relocated. It will not take place in Thoiry, but at the finish line in Paris.
Before racing on Montmartre, two additional laps will be contested on the Champs-Élysées.
It is not the first stage to be affected by the wildfires. The third stage was also altered.
