Felix Gall Takes Vuelta a Burgos Lead with Solo Victory
An attack on the final climb leads the Austrian to success.
East Tyrolean Felix Gall wins the third stage of the 2026 Vuelta a Burgos and takes the overall classification lead.
From an initial six-man breakaway group, Gall fends off several attacks from his rivals. However, with 6.8 kilometers to go, Gall himself upped the pace. For a while, overall leader Oscar Onley was able to follow, but eventually had to drop back.
Gall held onto his lead to the finish line and now leads the general classification of the Vuelta a Burgos. The battle for the tour victory promises to be exciting. Italian Giulio Ciccone is six seconds behind, with Scotland's Oscar Onley eight seconds back.
This success is particularly special for Gall. The East Tyrolean had not won a race since his victory on the queen stage of the 2023 Tour de France.
