Gmunden turns 18-point deficit into derby win!

The Swans achieve a remarkable comeback in the derby against Wels. Kufstein also celebrates its maiden victory.

The Raiffeisen Swans Gmunden won the first Upper Austria derby of the new win2day Basketball Superliga season with a 79:77 home victory over the Raiffeisen Flyers Wels.

In front of over 1,300 fans, the Swans ultimately secured their 84th overall derby triumph with a strong final quarter (21:10) – also capping off a brilliant comeback after the six-time champions had previously trailed by 18 points (24:42).

National team player Daniel Friedrich led Gmunden to their third win in their third game with 20 points and 9 assists. Wels continues to wait for their first season victory.

Kufstein Celebrates Maiden Victory

The Pirlo Kufstein Towers celebrated their maiden victory in the win2day Basketball Superliga with a 102:80 win over BC Vienna. The Tyroleans, who had five players scoring in double digits, dominated the boards and were also almost unstoppable offensively.

Michael Holton debuted for Vienna with 31 points.

The Eagles Raiffeisen UBSC Graz needed a double overtime for their second win of the season, beating the BK Karbon-X Dukes 102:94. Led by US import Josiah Shackleford, who posted a double-double with 30 points and twelve rebounds, Graz was the more focused team in the second overtime (12:4).

Wels Remains Undefeated in Women's League

In the win2day Basketball Damen Superliga, DBB Wels continues to set the standard: The Upper Austrians secured their fourth win in their fourth game on Sunday with an 82:58 home victory over the Vienna Timberwolves.

An Austrian trio comprising Anna Alborova (22), Gloria Kittinger, and Sophia Kuranovic (13) emerged as the top scorers. Meanwhile, the two finalists from last season also celebrated victories: The BK Raiffeisen Duchess Klosterneuburg won at home against Danubz Linz 85:74, and UBI Holding Graz confidently secured a 70:62 win in the Graz derby against UBSC-DBBC Graz.
