The Hefte Helfen Bulls Kapfenberg remain undefeated in the win2day Basketball Superliga.
In the rematch of last year's final, the Styrians prevailed against Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart with a score of 92:80 (45:39) and celebrated their fourth win of the season.
The Bulls got off to a flying start (19:7), before the hosts fought back with a 9-0 run. An open, back-and-forth contest with several lead changes ensued.
While Oberwart committed significantly fewer turnovers and got to the free-throw line more often, the visitors dominated on the boards (40:21).
Bulls Undefeated in Eight Games Across Seasons
After halftime, the Bulls increasingly took control with improved defense, once again building a double-digit lead. Oberwart found no answers, especially from long range; even a strong Larry Wise couldn't prevent the defeat.
For Kapfenberg, Zacheus Darko-Kelly (19 points), Mwani Wilkinson (16), and ex-Gunner Daniel Köppel (12) impressed. Vitalii Zotov recorded a double-double with ten points and ten assists.
The Bulls extended their winning streak across seasons and competitions to eight games, while Oberwart holds a record of one win from four games in the BSL.
