In the 8th round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, WSG Tirol lost 1:2 at home against SV Ried. Match Report >>>

The hosts took the lead in the eighth minute through a free-kick from Nikolai Baden Frederiksen.

"We talked about how the wall was positioned, and that allowed me to curl the ball around the wall," the Dane told "Sky" after the game.

Frederiksen shows self-criticism

The WSG striker further summarized the course of the game: "I think we had control in many phases of the game and created chances, but we didn't convert them. That's also my fault; I had a few chances!"

Coach Philipp Semlic also expressed self-criticism: "We did many things well, but we also did two things poorly in defense, which led to us conceding goals. Offensively, we didn't play out situations to the end to score our goal."

Penalty sparks Ried into action

Stefan Schwab stepped up for a penalty in the 15th minute and converted it for the 1:1 equalizer. The goal scorer said in an interview: "The 1:1 was very important; after that, we got better and better into the game and secured the 2:1 lead."

SV Ried coach Mario Despotovic also saw the penalty as the turning point of the match: "After we got the penalty, the game shifted in our favor."

Shortly before halftime, Pomer scored the winning goal to make it 2:1.

"I believe the team has come together more and more. We will simply continue to calmly do our job and approach the next game positively," Despotovic said in a post-match interview.
