SV Ried celebrates first away win of the season
At WSG Tirol, the Innviertel club set the course for victory already in the first half.
In the 8th round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, SV Ried secured a 2-1 victory away at WSG Tirol.
The Tyroleans started the game better. Nikolai Baden Frederiksen tested Ried keeper Andi Leitner with a volley from a tight angle as early as the fifth minute, but the goalkeeper emerged victorious.
Just three minutes later, the two players faced each other again. This time the Dane was successful, scoring from a direct free-kick from a good 30 metres (8').
Penalty as a Turning Point
In the 15th minute, Stefan Schwab confidently converted a penalty kick, levelling the score. The penalty was preceded by a foul from Gugganig on Evan Eghosa Aisowieren.
After that, the game lost some intensity. It wasn't until the 43rd minute that it became dangerous again. Via a deflection, the ball reached Philipp Pomer from Schwab, who chipped the ball over Hamzic to give the visitors the lead (43').
Aisowieren's Alleged 3-1 Goal
The visitors from Ried came out of the changing rooms better and scored in the 50th minute. However, Aisowieren's goal was disallowed due to offside.
WSG only started to create dangerous chances in front of Ried's goal from the 60th minute onwards, but Leitner held on to the victory for the Upper Austrians.
With their first away win of the current season, Ried provisionally climbed to fourth place in the table with eleven points. WSG remains on 8 points and occupies seventh place.
