Red Bull Salzburg? "Among Europe's Five Healthiest Clubs"
Stephan Reiter, CEO of FC Red Bull Salzburg, has no complaints about the club's financial situation.
Sporting-wise, the past three years haven't exactly gone to plan for FC Red Bull Salzburg.
The "Bulls" had to watch their rivals lift the championship trophy for three consecutive seasons, but economically, the club from the city of Mozart is unrivaled in Austria.
This is also confirmed by Salzburg CEO Stephan Reiter in an interview with the "Salzburger Nachrichten": "The club is extremely healthy. In the past ten years, we haven't had a single negative operating result."
Reiter even goes a step further: "We are certainly among the five healthiest clubs in Europe when it comes to financial key figures."
"Didn't expect our departures to bring in so much money"
A major reason for this is, of course, how the club has managed its affairs in the transfer market in recent years.
The best example is the past summer transfer window: although over 35 million Euros were spent on new signings, approximately 97.5 million Euros were simultaneously generated from player sales.
"Marcus and I agreed that we had to invest in the team this summer. However, neither of us expected our departures to bring in so much money," said Reiter.
Now titles should follow again
Now, the financial superiority should also be noticeable on the pitch again. "With our resources, the ambition must always be to win titles," Reiter believes.
In the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, things have gone quite well for the "Bulls" so far this season. With 17 points, they are in second place in the table (to the Bundesliga table >>>).
The next match is the away game against GAK on Saturday (from 5:00 PM in the LIVE ticker).
