Following the recent decision from Haas F1 Team confirming that I will not be participating in this weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix, I wish to formally address some media reports and speculation surrounding the situation. Last night, a difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved. Whilst I acknowledge that this took place, I categorically reject any reports or allegations suggesting that any form of physical violence was used to resolve any differences of any nature. I strongly condemn violence in all its forms and firmly believe that disagreements should always be handled with professionalism, respect, and mutual understanding. I kindly ask that speculation be avoided while the matter is being addressed. Further updates will be communicated in due course.

Violence rumors: Haas driver Ocon speaks out
Following his separation from Haas, Esteban Ocon speaks out. The Frenchman confirms an altercation but denies allegations of physical violence.
Esteban Ocon was dropped by his racing team Haas shortly before the Mexican Grand Prix. Japanese driver Ryo Hirakawa will start in his place.

Following various speculations, the Frenchman has now issued a statement on social media.
"Strongly condemn violence"
After qualifying at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, the 30-year-old clarified his position: "Last night, a disagreement led to an altercation involving the parties concerned."
The Frenchman thus confirms the incident but emphatically denies allegations of physical violence: "I strongly condemn violence in any form and firmly believe that disagreements should always be handled with professionalism, respect, and mutual understanding."
He also refutes reports that he allegedly grabbed and held his team principal Ayao Komatsu by the shoulder.
Also dismissed in 2024 after dispute
Like his (former) racing team, Ocon also calls for "avoiding speculation while the matter is being resolved."
A dispute with his team is nothing new for the Frenchman. He was already dismissed during the 2024 season after an altercation with his then-racing team Alpine. It is still unclear whether Ocon will race for Haas again.
