Rossi Records Assist, Montreal Implosion Makes NHL History
Vancouver suffers a narrow home defeat against Anaheim. Detroit also loses without Kasper. Montreal squanders a 4-0 lead in two and a half minutes.
Marco Rossi recorded an assist in his Vancouver Canucks' 4-5 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
He was involved in the first goal, Ohgren's (7th min/PP) temporary equalizer for 1-1. However, the visitors then pulled away to a 2-5 lead by the 45th minute – before a DeBrusk double (46th min/PP, 50th min) at least made the final phase exciting.
It is the 13th loss in the last 14 games for the NHL's last-place team. For Rossi, it is only his second point during this difficult period.
Canadiens Squander 4-0 Lead in Two and a Half Minutes
The Detroit Red Wings, without the still-injured Marco Kasper, lost 2-4 to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
A crazy defeat was suffered by the third NHL franchise with an Austrian connection, currently without Austrian reinforcement: The Montreal Canadiens led the Winnipeg Jets 4-0 until 2:39 minutes (!) before the end, before Bauer (58th min), Barron (59th min), and Connor twice (60th min, 60th min/PP) forced overtime – in which Samberg (64th min) even shot the visitors to a 5-4 victory.
It is the latest comeback from a four-goal deficit in NHL history.
