After Red Card! England Defender's Extended Absence
The Leverkusen player was sent off against Mexico. Quansah would only be eligible to play again in a potential final.
Bitter news for Thomas Tuchel!
Defender Jarell Quansah has been banned for two games after receiving a red card in the World Cup Round of 16 match against co-hosts Mexico. FIFA announced this on Thursday.
As a result, the Leverkusen player will miss England's quarter-final against Norway, as well as a potential semi-final against the winner of Argentina vs. Switzerland.
This means the 23-year-old could only return to action in the final at the earliest. Head coach Tuchel had started the centre-back, who can also play at right-back, in two matches at this tournament.
