"Absolute Scandal": Nagelsmann furious after disallowed goal
In extra time, Germany would have scored the 2-1 through Jonathan, but it was disallowed due to a foul. The national coach is furious:
After being eliminated in the World Cup Round of 32 against Paraguay (here for the match report >>>), national coach Julian Nagelsmann is very upset.
Nagelsmann on the brink? That's what DFB professional director Völler says >>>
What particularly annoys the 38-year-old? In the 105th minute, Jonathan Tah scored what would have been the 2-1 for Germany. However, due to a foul, the goal was deemed irregular; the rest is history.

Disallowed Goal an "Absolute Scandal"
Speaking to "ZDF", Nagelsmann first said: "(...) Then we score a goal, and it's a scandal that he (the referee) blows the whistle to disallow it. I have no idea what he saw there. It's truly a joke, but that's how it is."
However, they should have decided the game earlier, and they failed to do so.
When the disallowed goal was shown again during the interview, Nagelsmann became even more emphatic. "I'm seeing it again now, that's not just a scandal, that's an absolute scandal. That's not even remotely a foul," he fumed.
Opinions Differ
While Jürgen Klopp on "Magenta TV" also spoke of a "brutal" decision, and experts Manuel Gräfe (Bild), Sascha Amhof (SRF), and Thorsten Kinhöfer (ZDF) also saw no foul, there is a different opinion from the USA.
Mark Clattenburg, a former English referee, commented on "Fox Sports": "That's a clear foul for me."
Whether it was a foul or not, in the end, it was simply not enough from the German national team against the supposed football minnow Paraguay. Dwelling on a disallowed goal is probably the wrong approach given the performances shown.
