Will Mexico vs. England still be postponed?
Severe weather is currently still raging around the Azteca Stadium. The match was actually scheduled to start in about an hour and a half.
Will the kick-off of the round of 16 blockbuster between Mexico and England (scheduled for 2:00 AM, in the LIVE ticker >>>) be postponed after all?
Thunderstorms had already been forecast beforehand, and they are now indeed occurring around the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
At the current time (as of 0:40 AM CEST, 4:40 PM local time), the severe weather protocol is in effect – which means that fans are currently not allowed into the stadium.
The protocol states: Spectators are only allowed back into the stadium half an hour after the last lightning strike.
