Following the dramatic 3-2 victory against Egypt (to the highlights>>>), the 46-year-old was hit in the head by a stone on Tuesday evening (local time) in the small town of Cañuelas, about 60 kilometers south of Buenos Aires, according to local media reports.
The man immediately lost consciousness and succumbed to a severe head trauma on the way to the hospital.
Following the evaluation of surveillance camera footage, police arrested a 20-year-old suspect.
